Gnadenhutten, Ohio is a small village located in Tuscarawas County. It has a rich history dating back to the 18th century when it was established by Moravian missionaries. The village is known for its picturesque scenery, historic sites, and strong sense of community.

In March of that year, a group of American militia attacked the village, accusing the Delaware Indians of supporting the British. Despite the Moravian missionaries’ efforts to maintain peace, the militia killed nearly 100 men, women, and children in the village. This tragic event is remembered as the Gnadenhutten Massacre and is commemorated with a memorial at the site of the massacre.
Today, Gnadenhutten is a quiet and peaceful village with a strong sense of community. The village has a population of around 1,300 people and is known for its beautiful countryside and charming downtown area. The historic sites of the village attract history enthusiasts and tourists interested in learning about the area’s past. The Moravian Church, museum, and the Gnadenhutten Historical Park are popular attractions for visitors.
