Cuddebackville is a small hamlet located in the town of Deerpark, New York. It is situated in Orange County, in the western part of the state. With a population of just over 1,000 people, Cuddebackville is a close-knit community with a rich history and scenic surroundings.

The original name of the hamlet was Cuddeback, named after the Cuddeback family who were early settlers in the area. In the early 19th century, the name was changed to Cuddebackville to distinguish it from the Cuddebackville in Sullivan County.

One of the most prominent landmarks in Cuddebackville is the Neversink Valley Grange Hall, which was built in 1887. It served as a gathering place for the local community and was the site of numerous social events and activities. Today, the Grange Hall is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a popular venue for weddings, parties, and other special events.

Cuddebackville is also home to the Roebling Aqueduct, which was completed in 1851. It was designed by John A. Roebling, the same engineer who later went on to design the Brooklyn Bridge. The aqueduct carried the Delaware and Hudson Canal over the Delaware River and was an important transportation link during the 19th century. Today, it is a National Historic Landmark and is open to the public for tours and recreational activities.

The hamlet is surrounded by picturesque natural beauty, with the Neversink River and the Delaware River both flowing nearby. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy hiking, fishing, and boating in the area, as well as birdwatching and wildlife observation. The nearby Hawks Nest scenic overlook offers stunning views of the Delaware River and the surrounding countryside.

Cuddebackville is a charming and peaceful community that offers a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. With its rich history, natural beauty, and small-town charm, it is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley region of New York.
